A very cool feature at the Montreux Jazz Festival, which pleases old djs like me with a work-related and never ending ringing tone in your ear, was that it was possible to choose a 85dB zone where your ears weren´t exposed to extreme sound levels – and a 100dB zone, where you could take a free set of earplugs at the entrance. Cool.
And the sound was brilliant – just like the video for the screens had a very high production value. Really quite a good experience when it comes to concerts where normally I´m used to the trashy quality of the everyday concert with relatively bad but very loud sound and extremely poor videoscreen work. Montreux must be a benchmark on this field.
